The Butterfly and the Buddleia Tree

A butterfly sat silently upon a buddleia tree, when along strode a cat who jumped up gleefully.

The butterfly took fright and flounced off in a rage, whilst the cat lay down, to gaze upon a cage.

Within this cage was a bird so rare and bright, beautiful to look at, with a voice so sweet and light.

The cat just gazed in wonder and with awe, as this little darling bird opened up its own cage door.

In a flash it was gone soaring high above the trees, it flew with joy and elegance on the lightness of the breeze.

Watching from close by was that silky butterfly, who had noticed that the cat was now entranced upon the sky.

So she fluttered very quickly and once more came to rest, upon that fragrant buddleia tree the place she loved the best.

And there she sat resplendently, this stunning Crimson Rose, searching once again for a summer’s safe repose.
